As the Vice President of Human Resources, Kala leads the employment efforts for the AgriBusiness division of The Simplot Company. She supports over 4500 employees across North America who manufacture and distribute fertilizer products contributing to the company’s mission of “Feeding the World”. In her HR role, Kala leads activities for culture and engagement, employee experience, talent and retention, compliance, M&A, and integration while serving as coach, counselor, strategist, and businesswoman.
Prior to joining Simplot in 2012, Kala worked for St. Luke’s Health System for over 12 years in a variety of capacities supporting nursing and operations. She transitioned to HR in 2007 to pursue her passion in finding and growing talent and supporting employment efforts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and management from George Fox University. She obtained her Professional Human Resources Certification in 2012 which she maintains today. As a native Idahoan, she spends a lot of time outdoors rafting, camping, hiking, reading, and enjoying her family.
